Futures Workshop: Exploring the future
of Speech Pathology Australia

On 31 May, we had the pleasure of hosting the Futures Workshop, bringing together members, staff and associates to explore the challenges and opportunities of tomorrow. The day was filled with rich discussion, creative exercises, and collaborative thinking, setting the stage for fresh perspectives on the future of our work, communities, and world.

We extend our sincere thanks to the facilitators, Professor Sohail Inayatullah and David Platt, whose insights and energy were the driving force behind the day’s success. They helped frame the key themes, while their guidance encouraged thoughtful discussion and meaningful exploration.

We’re equally grateful to all participants that joined us in-person and online, whose open-mindedness and creativity made the workshop dynamic and memorable. Your contributions demonstrated the power of collective intelligence in shaping shared futures.

What’s next?

The insights and outcomes from the workshop will inform ongoing projects, strategy discussions, and future planning efforts. SPA will now be running state-based workshops to provide an opportunity for participants to collaborate and contribute to the upcoming Strategic Plan and Futures Report.
