NDIS Supports Lists consultation – have your say by 27 July

The Australian Government Department of Social Services (DSS) is seeking feedback on the NDIS Supports Lists to inform future reforms to the NDIS Supports Rules. We encourage members to review and consider making a submission to this consultation, which closes on 27 July 2025.

We know many members have experienced frustration about the current NDIS Supports Lists, published on October 2024, which are derived from the transitional NDIS Supports Rules (section 10).

This is an important opportunity for speech pathologists to contribute your expertise and ensure that communication and dysphagia supports are properly considered in any revised Rules.

Speech Pathology Australia (SPA) will make a formal submission, which will highlight the issues members have experienced particularly around applications for dysphagia supports and AAC/AT replacement items such as iPads.

How you can get involved:

While the language in the consultation paper and survey is focussed on participants, providers are also eligible to participate in the consultation.

SPA has already undertaken significant advocacy on this issue - thank you to our members who previously submitted case studies to support this work.
